View recordOn 4th October 1994, you were convicted in Singapore of:
(a) insulting the modesty of a woman (s 509 of the Singapore Penal Code) and
(b) voluntarily causing hurt (s 323 of the Singapore Penal Code) You failed to report these convictions to the Bar Council.
On 25th October 1994, you were convicted under Section 188 on the Penal Code of Singapore of twelve counts of disobeying a public servant in the course of their duty. You failed to report any of these convictions to the Bar Council.
On 26th December 1998 you assaulted a fellow motorist and used insulting words in a public place, and on 31st January 2001 you were convicted, of on 26th December 1998 having:
(a) voluntarily hurt the motorist (s 323 of the Singapore Penal Code), and
(b) used insulting words, thereby causing alarm, in a public place (s 13A (1) (a) of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Amended Act 1996, Edition, Chapter 184).
On 31St January 2001, you were convicted in Singapore of having:
(a) voluntarily hurt a fellow motorist (s 323 of the Singapore Penal Code), and
(b) used insulting words, thereby causing alarm, in a public place (s 13A (1) (a) of the
Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Amended Act 1996, Edition, Chapter 184);
and were sentenced to three months imprisonment, and further fined SP$2,000 and ordered to pay compensation of SP$1,000. In May 2001, upon your appeal against conviction (which was dismissed) and the prosecution's cross-appeal on sentence, you were sentenced instead to 12 months imprisonment, and the fine and compensation orders were also upheld. You failed to report these convictions to the Bar Council, promptly or at all.
