Syed Alwi Bin Idros engaged in conduct whilst in practice as a member of the Bar of Malaya which was dishonest or otherwise discreditable to a barrister in that he appropriated money belonging to a client, in respect of which conduct he was convicted on 8 June 2004 by the Malaya Advocates and Solicitors? Disciplinary Committee of dishonestly misappropriating money due to a client and ordered to be struck off the Roll of Advocates and Solicitors of the High Court of Malaysia, which order was put into effect on 14 September 2004.
