Past disciplinary findings

Bhaktavatsalu Krishnasamy engaged in conduct which was dishonest or otherwise discreditable to a barrister, and which was likely to bring the legal profession into disrepute, in that in about 1989 whilst practising in Malaysia as an Advocate and Solicitor and partner in the firm B. Krishna & Partners of 6A Jalan Istana, P.O. Box 138, 41000 Klang, Selangor, and acting for the family of a person, SBS, killed in a road traffic accident, in an action for damages against the individual who was responsible for the deceased?s death, received a settlement sum of approximately RM65,000 from the individual responsible for the deceased?s death and failed and continues to fail to account for the same to those for whom he was acting, without any lawful reason, in respect of which conduct: 1. he was convicted by the Malaysia Advocates and Solicitors? Disciplinary Board of misappropriation of client?s money; 2. he was duly ordered to be struck off the roll of Advocates and Solicitors of the High Court of Malaysia on 15 February 2005, effective 21 days from the date of the said order.
