Bryan Stephen, between March 2005 and April 2007, engaged in conduct which was dishonest or otherwise discreditable to a barrister in that, having been put in funds in the amount of ?40,009.13 by a client for the specific purpose of purchasing property in St Lucia, he failed and/or refused to utilise the funds for that purpose and allowed the said funds to be dissipated from his client account

Bryan Stephen failed to deal with complaints dated 19 April 2006, 25 April 2006, 22 May 2006 from a client in respect of the purchase of property in St Lucia, promptly or courteously, and the failure was by reason of its nature (in connection with a serious allegation), repetition and combination with other failures to comply with the Code (being the failures which are Charge 1 so serious as to bring the Bar into disrepute
