View recordPearl Allen, between 22 May 2009 and about 29 June 2009, (being a non-practising barrister called to the Bar in November 2000) supplied legal services to KS and in connection with the supply of such services held herself out as a barrister pursuant to paragraph 201(a)(i) of the Code of Conduct without having complied with the pre-conditions to practise in sub-paragraphs 202(a), 202(b), 202(c) and 202(d) of the Bar?s Code of Conduct within any time limit prescribed by the relevant Regulations (referred to in paragraph 901.4 of the Code of Conduct) or at all.
Pearl Allen failed to respond promptly or at all to requests from the Bar Standards Board for comments or information on a complaint, in that she failed to respond to letters sent to her by the Bar Standards Board dated 7 August 2009 and 7 September 2009, such failure being serious as to amount to professional misconduct by virtue of its nature and/or extent in that the Bar Standards Board was asking Miss Allen for comments in relation to a serious allegation against her that she had provided legal services and in connection with such services held out herself out as a barrister even though she was in fact a non-practising barrister.
