Offence details:

Yash Mehey engaged in conduct likely to diminish public confidence in the legal profession or the administration of justice or otherwise brought the legal profession into disrepute contrary to paragraph 301(a)(iii), in that on 5 November 2007 he caused or permitted to be sent a request for an adjournment of a two-day Disciplinary Tribunal due to commence on 6 November 2007 on the grounds of his ill-health, when he was in fact well enough to attend the said Disciplinary Tribunal.

Yash Mehey failed to respond promptly to requests from the Bar Standards Board for comments or information on a complaint, in that he failed to respond to letters sent to him by the Bar Standards Board dated 13 May 2009 and 10 June 2009, such failure being so serious as to amount to professional misconduct by virtue of its combination with another failure to comply with the Code (being the failure which is the subject of charges 1 of this Charge Sheet).
