View recordMurtala Murray Idris engaged in conduct which was discreditable to a barrister contrary to paragraph 301(a)(i) of the Code of Conduct in that on the 30 October 2005 he drove a motor vehicle after consuming excess alcohol contrary to s.5(1)(a) Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 for which conduct he was fined ?200 and disqualified from driving for 12 months by the Woolwich Magistrates Court.
Murtala Murray Idris made a materially false declaration on admission to Lincoln?s Inn and failed before Call fairly to disclose in writing to the Benchers of the Inn calling him, conduct which was dishonest in that in answer to a material particular in his admission declaration dated 21 October 2002, he declared that he had not been convicted of any ?relevant criminal offence? whereas in fact he had been convicted of the following offences:
-Indecent assault
-Robbery and assault with intent to rob by joint enterprise
-Fraudulently using vehicle excise licence
-Driving whilst disqualified and having no insurance
-Theft
-Driving whilst disqualified and without insurance and failing to stop after an incident
-Possession of a Class B drug.
Murtala Murray Idris engaged in conduct which was dishonest in knowingly declaring falsely in his Call Declaration that his admission declaration was true and accurate in every respect dated 24 February 2004 that he had not been convicted of any ?relevant criminal offence? whereas in fact he had been convicted of the following offences:
-Indecent assault
-Robbery and assault with intent to rob by joint enterprise
-Fraudulently using vehicle excise licence
-Driving whilst disqualified and having no insurance
-Theft
-Driving whilst disqualified and without insurance and failing to stop after an incident
-Possession of a Class B drug.
