The BSB has been made aware of a number of further bogus emails purporting to come from the BSB and inviting the reader to click on a hyperlink for details of a supposed invoice.

BSB publishes new version of its Handbook

The Bar Standards Board (BSB) has today published the latest version of the BSB Handbook which contains the Code of Conduct for barristers in England and Wales. This introduces new authorisation to practise requirements, streamlines the public and licensed access rules, and introduces new obligations for barristers and BSB regulated entities to comply with the new Anti-Money Laundering Regulations. The new rules mean that there are four new reporting requirements for barristers looking to apply for or renew their practising certificates.

The Bar became more diverse during 2017 although further progress is still needed

The Bar Standards Board (BSB) has today published its annual report on Diversity at the Bar. The report shows that progress was made in 2017 with regard to both diversity at the Bar and to the disclosure rates of barristers providing data.

BSB to take a new approach towards assuring quality at the Bar
