Legal Choices: the legal regulators’ consumer website

We have contributed an article recently to Legal Choices for 10-17 year-olds who are defendants within a Youth Court. We explain youth courts and the work that we are doing to standardise Youth Court advocacy. You can read it online.

Legal Choices is an online resource to promote the work of all the frontline legal regulators to the general public, especially potential consumers of legal services. The website contains information of a general nature to help consumers on a range of legal issues. Recent articles include:

  • Rights when arrested
  • Seeking asylum
  • Employment issues
  • Youth justice

Legal Choices also explains the differences between barristers, solicitors and other types of lawyers and how they help the public with different aspects of the legal system. In addition, Legal Choices answers frequently asked questions about the legal system generally, and what consumers can do if they are unhappy with their lawyer.
