Open University study of wellbeing at the Bar

One of our statutory objectives as a regulator is to encourage "an independent, strong, diverse and effective legal profession" and we therefore support wellbeing initiatives at the Bar such as those led by the Bar Council. The Open University (OU) and the UK charity LawCare are also collaborating to promote positive emotional and psychological approaches to working in the legal profession. They have asked us to let you know that during February they are holding early evening focus groups across the UK to improve their understanding of issues relating to emotional wellbeing in the UK legal profession.

This includes groups in London (6 February), Belfast (8 February), Edinburgh (12 February), Cardiff (16 February) and Dublin (22 February).  If you would be interested in attending, please contact Dr Emma Jones of The Open University Law School on e.j.jones@open.ac.uk or call 01908) 654311. The OU have also asked whether you would kindly circulate this message to encourage attendees from all parts of the legal community.
