The Bar Standards Board (BSB) has today published its Data and Intelligence Strategy 2024–2027. The BSB recognises the value of effective data and intelligence in exercising its regulatory functions and believes that data and intelligence are crucial to enabling the regulator to work effectively and to be agile, evidence-led and risk-based. The BSB uses data and intelligence to drive effective policy, and regularly publishes key data both on developments within the legal sector, and on its own performance and decision-making.
As the BSB enters the final year of its 2022-25 BSB Strategic Plan, much of its work, either directly or indirectly, involves data and intelligence capabilities. In transitioning to a new Strategic Plan from 2025, the Data & Intelligence Strategy will help the BSB set the data and intelligence foundations for its commitments and help it to deliver its strategic goals from 2025 onwards. This document therefore lays out the BSB’s strategy over the next three years to achieve these improvements. It sets out a vision and objectives for data and intelligence at the BSB, an implementation roadmap, and the outcomes the BSB seeks to achieve. You can read the full strategy here.
